Sin Nian Tiger Party
Capital E, Civic Square
Sunday 7 February : 12 – 3pm
Free
Sin Nian (”sin ne-an”) literally translates to ‘New Year’ and is the Festival’s first event.
The lions are coming – and will be dancing up a storm! The junior lion troupe will follow the big bang booming firecrackers to scare away the bad spirits, clearing the way for good luck and fortune for 2010.
The Tiger is a strong, independent beast; AET and Capital E invites the whole family to share these traits with fun hands-on activities and craft projects. The feature activity in Civic Square is the construction of a giant tiger using balloons.
A kid’s day wouldn’t be complete without the ‘tiger’ games that everyone loves, like Pin the tail on the Tiger, Hungry Tigers, and Musical Tigers, complete with competition winners and prizes. Plus the stage entertainment always brings a smile to the young and young at heart.
See you at Capital E in Civic Square where you can have a whole lot of fun with the family!
